1. Preparing Your Tummy for Turkey
=========================================

As you prepare your menus, your invites,
your shopping lists, and your homes for
this Thursday's Thanksgiving Feast - you
should add another important item to your
To Do list - the preparation of your own
tummy!

I can hear you now "What the heck does she
mean by that?"

Well, let me ask you this. . .
. . . how did you feel the last time
you ate a holiday dinner that included
hors d'oeuvres, wine, bread stuffing, meat,
potatoes, cruciferous vegetables, and pie
topped with whipped cream or ice cream?

Full, bloated, and even distended?

It's not unusual for people to complain
about eating too much, but the complaint
is often accompanied by whines about
bloating and grunts about pain.

This discomfort can be some serious stuff!

I know, I've been there! and I want to do
the best I can to avoid it, short of depriving
myself all of the food.

So what can we do to prepare our own tummy
for these treats?

Two things you can start right away:

--A great probiotic (on an empty stomach)

--Digestive enzymes (right before your meal)

And have on hand a natural antacid (and antacid
is the same thing as an alkalinizer) if you get
to that overstuffed feeling!

My favorites are (of course) in the Young Living
product line:

--Life 5 Probiotic
--Essentialzyme Digestive Enzymes
--Alkalime

Ideally you want to take your probiotics on a
daily basis to help to populate the gut with
good bacteria - the kind that will help balance
the eco-terrain of your internal environment.
It's important to take these on an empty stomach.

Other tips to not feel overstuffed:

--Drink lemon water - this keeps you alkalinzed
throughout the meal

--Eat slowly

--Chew your food thoroughly

--Enjoy the conversation and keep a smile on your face,
even if the family dynamics don't warrant it!

2. Essential Oil Tip: Gratitude Oil
=================================================

This is a soothing blend designed to
foster a grateful attitude.

--Idaho balsam fir
--Frankincense
--Rosewood
--Myrrh
--Galbanum
--Ylang ylang

4. Success Tip: William Faulkner
=================================

Gratitude is a quality similar to electricity: it must be
produced and discharged and used up in order to exist at all.

~William Faulkner

5. Recipe of the Week: Grateful Gravy
========================================

Remove the turkey from the roasting pan and set onto a platter.
Cover the turkey tightly with aluminum foil and set aside until
you're ready to eat.

Place the roasting pan onto the stove top over medium heat. Add 2
cups of water into the pan and stir about 5 minutes or until the
drippings and browned bits from bottom dissolve.

Place a strainer over a fat separator cup or bowl. Pour pan
drippings through strainer. Add enough liquid stock to make 4
cups total.

To remove fat from drippings, add several ice cubes to the liquid
and place stock into freezer for 10 minutes. If you're using a
fat separator cup, pour off stock into a saucepan. If you're
using a bowl, remove hardened fat with spoon and place stock into
a saucepan. Expect to have about 4 cups of liquid. Place the
saucepan onto the stove top over medium heat.

Place saucepan over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Add thyme
and sage to the simmering stock. Continue to simmer until the
stock is reduced by 1/4, or until about 3 cups of stock remain.

Pour milk into a small bowl. Add cornstarch and stir to mix
evenly. Slowly pour milk mixture into the simmering stock,
stirring slowly. Bring sauce to a boil and continue to stir until
stock thickens and has a nice shine, about 3 to 5 minutes.

Pour gravy into warmed gravy boat and serve with turkey.

=========================================

Thanksgiving Divorce

Charlie in Dallas calls his son Eddie in New York
just before Thanksgiving and tells him,
"I am sorry to tell you but your mother
and I decided to get divorced. I just cannot
take any more of her moaning. We can't stand
the sight of each other any more. I am telling
you first, Eddie, because you are the eldest.
Please tell your sister."

When Eddie calls his sister Julie, she says:
"No way are they getting divorced, I've got to
fly there and see them for Thanksgiving."

Julie phones her parents and tells them both
"You must NOT get divorced. Promise you won't do
anything until I get over there. I'm calling Eddie,
and we'll both be there with you tomorrow. Until then, don't
take any action, please listen to me", and hangs up.

The father puts down the phone and turns to his wife and says.
'Good news' he says, 'Eddie and Julie are coming for Thanksgiving
and they are both paying their own way.'
