1. Eat Fish, Feel Good
=======================
Did your grandmother ever tell you that fish was good "brain
food"?
I remember hearing that as a kid, and all that did was gross me
out!
I sure have come a long way!
Not only is fish a large part of my diet, but one of my favorite
supplements that makes me FEEL GREAT are fish oils.
If you want to get started on a health care regime where you see
and feel positive results rapidly, then consider incorporating
fish oils into your daily routine.
Fish oils, which consist primarily of omega-3 fatty acids, have
fabulous benefits. From weight loss to decreasing inflammation -
and they can also prevent serious diseases. There are multiple
studies that validate these benefits.
A 1996 study by the American Heart Association showed fish oils
to reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and abnormal heart
rhythms. They also found that consuming fish slowed the buildup
of plaque in arteries.
Studies done on the Greenland Eskimos who have a very high
intake of fish oils, showed a very low incidence of heart
attacks, asthma, diabetes, psoriasis, and allergies.
There's a long list of researched based health benefits, and
here are some of them:
-- Weight Loss
A study that came out of Perth Australia showed that
higher fish consumption can help high blood pressure and
obesity.
-- Diminished risk for sudden cardiac death. This means less
chance of dying suddenly from a heart attack because:
* the fish oil fatty acids reduce blood clotting by
decreasing the stickiness of blood platelets
* omega-3 oils may play a role in stabilizing heart
rhythms
* the electrical impulses that go awry during some
heart attacks are preserved in people who eat fish and
use fish oils
-- Helpful for Asthma
Researchers at University of Wyoming conducted a study
with asthmatic children feeding half of them
a high fish diet while a control group continued their
regular diet. The kids who ate more fish were less likely
to have asthma attacks and were able to breathe more
easily.
-- Reduce craving for fatty foods
-- Prevent and treat major depression, bipolar and ADHD
A recent Australian study of 21 depressed patients
confirmed that the most severely depressed had imbalances
of fatty acids in their blood and cell membranes.
Evidence suggests DHA-type fish oil helps regulate
serotonin, a neurotransmitter known for its "feel-good"
qualities.
-- Improve skin, hair, and nail health
-- Prevent Alzheimer's Disease
-- Prevent diabetes
-- Prevent and treat rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus,
inflammatory bowel disease, and other inflammatory issues
Here are some good sources of fish to consider (also - fish oil
supplements are very effective and made from mostly cold water
fish):
Salmon
Herring
Sardines
Anchovy
Mackerel
Sablefish
Bluefish
Rainbow and Lake Trout
Halibut
Oysters
Turbot
Striped Sea Bass
When I first started taking fish oils I noticed three significant
changes in my body within 24 hours.
The first was my skin - it just felt so much smoother.
The second was that my body just "felt better". It's hard to
explain because I hadn't felt bad, but just moving around seemed
easier and exercising seemed a little easier. I attributed it to
the anti-inflammatory effects of the fish oils. I didn't think I
had inflammation in my body but maybe I had low level
inflammation.
The third was my mood was uplifted - a subtle but noticeable
difference.
There are many good sources of fish oils. It is important to be
certain to get fish oils that are clean and as free from mercury
as possible. I am happy with Young Living's Omega Blue fish oils
because of the filtering system they use to clean the fish oil,
and they are preserved with essential oils so they don't get
rancid (top fish oils on the market are doing this now).

3. Essential Oil Tip: Lemon for Fishy Smells
=============================================
A great way to overcome the smell of fish on your hands or
environment is by using lemon oil.
To get a strong fishy smell off your hands use salt with
sprinkles of lemon oil.

distributor or by going to http://tinyurl.com/aenfp

5.Recipe of the Week: Vin's Baked Snapper
===========================================
This recipe is near and dear to my heart because I just love
snapper and it was submitted by a dear friend who loves to fish
and has spent most of his life on the water.
--Coat snapper lightly in extra virgin olive oil
--Combine 1/4 tsp garlic powder, paprika, ginger powder
--Sprinkle it over the fish
--Stuff fish with chopped tomatoes, asparagus spears, fresh
cilantro or basil
--Sprinkle sea salt and pepper to taste
--Wrap in aluminum foil
--Bake at 350 for 30 - 45 minutes depending on fish size
Thanks Vin! - Murph says YOU A.T.B.

6. HSL's Joke or Cute Quote of the Week
=========================================
A fish goes into a bank and approaches the teller.
He can see from her nameplate that the teller's name is Patricia
Whack.
He says, "Ms. Whack, I'd like to get a loan to buy a boat and go
on a long vacation. Patti looks at the fish in disbelief and asks
how much he wants to borrow. The fish says $30,000. The teller
asks his name and the fish says that his name is Rainbow Jagger,
his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it's okay, he knows the bank
manager.
Patti explains that $30,000 is a substantial amount of
money and that he will need to secure some collateral against the
loan. She asks if he has anything he can use as collateral. The
fish says, "Sure, I have this," and produces a tiny porcelain fly
rod and reel, about an inch long; detailed and perfectly formed.
Very confused, Patti explains that she'll have to consult with
the manager and disappears into a back office.
She finds the manager and says, "There's a fish named Rainbow
Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow
$30,000. And he wants to use this as collateral." She holds up
the tiny rod & reel. "I mean, what the heck is this??"
The bank manager looks back at her and says: "It's a knick-knack,
Patti Whack. Give the fish a loan. His old man's a Rolling
Stone."
