Can an apple squeeze the living cream out of a Twinkie?

I'm not much for politics, nor am I into Twinkies . .

. . .but because I'm a "foodie" - and love vibrant, healthy,
organic food - I can see myself getting activated to campaign for
this cause.

This year the $70 billion Farm Bill gets rewritten. In the past
the junk food makers have played a big part in wiping out small
farmers and have controlled the subsidies of the bill.

The is a huge campaign to put the Farm Bill into the hands of
people like you and I - who pay for it.

Whether you are for this cause or not - you will enjoy the
silliness of this fight between the apple and the snack cake.

2. Your Teeth Connected to Your Heart?
=======================================

This makes such perfect sense . . . in the holistic world!

(holistic = "emphasizing the interdependence of parts")

Bacteria in our mouth that attach to plaque on our teeth can
affect our heart. A recent study says it can even cause a heart
attack. This came out of the American Association for the
Advancement of Science.

What happens is certain bacteria cause the platelets to clump
which can cause a clot that could lead to a heart attack. The
bacteria involved are:

--Streptococcus sanguis (S. sanguis)
--Porphyromonas gingivalis (P. gingivalis)

These bacteria are usually found in diseased gums.

The testing was done on rabbits (oh well - animal testing once
again). They injected these bacteria and found that there was
platelet clotting, faster heart rate, and changes in EKG's.

I don't believe in animal testing. And I do believe in getting
information like this out to people OTHER than through dentists!

Physicians and cardiologists should not only be sharing this
information but they should be examining patients' mouths and
taking dental histories to bring this aspect of care into play.

Once again I feel safely armed with something that is so
effective and helpful for prevention and treatment of serious
bacterial problems in my mouth - and that is using the Thieves
toothpaste and the mouthwash from Young Living. The best thing
about the action of these essential oil products is that they are
effective against the "bad bugs" but respect the ecological
terrain that needs to be present. And they are not caustic to
the mucous membranes.

I don't care if I sound like I'm trying to promote this product
because of my affiliation with Young Living or not. The truth is
these mouth care products are by far the best thing we have got
going for good SAFE and effective mouth care.

Essential oils are so effective in the health of the mouth and
gums. Besides my own personal positive experiences with the
toothpaste and the mouthwash, I have heard so many people speak
of serious improvements in their mouth health because of
switching over to Thieves.

I used to use Tom's of Maine thinking I was getting the best
natural toothpaste until I realized it had Sodium Laurel Sulfate
in it. And since Colgate bought them I don't think they are going
to change that anytime soon.

3. Essential Oil Tip: Thieves for Mouth Care
=============================================

I was flying down to Virginia Beach last week and the airport
security took my brand new tube of Thieves toothpaste! I was
tiffed! It was one ounce over the limit (I carried on all of my
luggage for my two day trip).

But they didn't get my bottle of Thieves essential oil. Thank
Goodness!

That is what I ended up using to brush my teeth with since I
didn't have my toothpaste and I couldn't bear to use the "other"
stuff.

So here is the tip. . .

. . .if you are without your toothpaste but you have your bottle
of Thieves - put a few drops on your toothbrush and brush your
teeth with it! Still great refreshing clean teeth!

Order your essential oils from your Young Living
distributor or by going to http://tinyurl.com/aenfp

4. Success Tip: Albert Einstein
================================

"If A is a success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work
is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut."

Albert Einstein

5.Recipe of the Week: Mouth Watering Mango Pudding
==================================================

This is a healthy, raw, wholesome, and sugarless dessert.

2 Mangos
1/4 Lime (Optional)
Shredded Coconut & Chopped Pecans, to taste

Use a vegetable peeler to peel mangos. Then place a knife flush
to one of the flat sides of the mango pit and cut the mango away
from the pit. Add 1/4 lime and blend until perfectly smooth.

To complete the dessert, pour into dessert cups/dishes and add
shredded coconut and chopped pecans to taste. This also tastes
good with just the pureed mango.

7. HSL's Joke or Cute Quote of the Week
=========================================

YOUR AGE BY EATING OUT

(get out your pen, paper, and calculator - this is fun and
fascinating!)

--Pick the number of times a week that you would like to go out
to eat. (more than once but less than 10)

--Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

--Add 5

--Multiply it by 50

--If you have already had your birthday this year add 1757 ....
If you haven't, add 1756.

--Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

--You should have a three digit number

--The first digit of this was your original number
(I.e., how! Many times you want to go out to restaurants in a
week.)

The next two numbers are YOUR AGE!

This is the only year (2007) that it will ever work!
