1. In-Sects and the City: Stop Bugs Anywhere, Naturally
=======================================================
No matter where you live, bugs in and around the house are nofun. Besides their creepy crawly appearance, their presence canrob us of a certain level of comfort that we want for ourselvesin our homes.
Home Spa-ers do not want to use toxic chemicals to fend off thesecreatures. We don't want to bring toxic substances into ourliving spaces and our lives.
Essential Oils are the best natural way to prevent and attackbugs in and around your home. Here are the choice essential oilsthat can keep bugs away:
--Lemongrass
--Eucalyptus
--Peppermint
--Lavender
--Cedarwood
--Citronella
--Purification (YL Blend)
Here are just a few ways you can use them:
--Make your own repellent (see recipe below)
--Line windows, doorways, and counters by dripping or sprayingthe oils, or soak a string in the oil (peppermint is effectiveagainst ants)
--Place a few drops of oil in your shampoo or liquid soap
--Spray clothing or bedding
--Pour a few drops onto a candle
--Place a cloth or paper strip sprayed or soaked in oils andplace around the room, especially by doors and windows.

2. Whine to Attract A Mate
============================
That's what mosquitos do.
You know that irritating buzz in your ear when a mosquito isflying around you? That's the female looking for a mate.
When the two meet, they try to synchronize their buzz. If itworks, they know they are a match.
If the tones don't converge, they know together they won't beable to produce any little baby mosquitos.
Over 3000 species of mosquitos are being studied for theirvarying flight tones to attract mates.
The report of a study being conducted by Gabriella Gibson of theNatural Resources Institute at the University of Greenwich andIan Russell of the University of Sussex is available in the July12 issue of the journal "Current Biology".

3. CDC Recommends Eucalyptus Oil as Mosquito Repellent
======================================================
Isn't this encouraging?
Mosquito bites are a summer bummer. But what is worse is whatthat bite can bring. The threat of West Nile Virus is still veryalive. West Nile Virus is carried by mosquitos and affectshumans, horses, and birds.
One bite from a mosquito carrying WNV is all it takes to becomeinfected. An infected individual or animal can range from havingno symptoms to brain swelling and even death.
The Center for Disease Control has many recommendations on how toprevent mosquito bites and contracting West Nile Virus. One ofthe recommendations is the application of lemon eucalyptus oil.
Here is how it is described from an article on their website:
"Oil of lemon eucalyptus [p-menthane 3,8-diol (PMD)], a plantbased repellent, is also registered with EPA. In two recentscientific publications, when oil of lemon eucalyptus was testedagainst mosquitoes found in the US it provided protection similarto repellents with low concentrations of DEET."
The other CDC recommendations, DEET and Picaridin, are chemicallybased and can be very toxic to the body (the CDC and the EPA saythey are safe but "not to be used directly onthe skin").
In our Young Living arsenal the two favorite essential oil blendsfor protection against mosquitos and other buggers are directapplications of Purification and RC.

4. Success Tip: "The Secret" is No Longer A Secret
======================================================
If this isn't the epitome of a virus spreading fast, I don't knowwhat is!
Viral marketing is one of the most effective ways to spreadinformation very rapidly to a wide audience. Information aboutanything can spread just like a virus, directly from one personto another. When done strategically, it can reach epidemicproportions.
One very good example of this is the recent marketing of a videocalled "The Secret". It is an excellent video on The Law ofAttraction and how to bring whatever it is you want into yourlife.
The makers of this film are using both the Law of Attraction thatthey are teaching about in the video, and viral marketingprinciples. They have been able to spread this information to themasses who are more than ready for it.
We are in the heart of the information and empowerment boom, andmany people out there are craving this perspective on how tomake dreams come true.
I would almost bet that more than 50% of you reading thisnewsletter right now have heard about this video. If not, and youwant more information on "The Secret", go to:http://www.thesecret.tv/

5. HSL's Joke or Cute Quote of the Week
=========================================
Two roaches were munching on garbage in an alley when oneinitiates a discussion about a new restaurant.
"I was in that new restaurant across the street," said one. "It'sso clean! The kitchen is spotless, and the floors are gleamingwhite. There is no dirt anywhere--it's so sanitary that the wholeplace shines."
"Please," said the other roach frowning. "Not while I'm eating!"
