=========================1.What Moms Really Want=========================
Hallmark, as you can imagine, does tons of research on thistopic. They found what mothers love to receive from theirhusbands and children are things she wants but won't purchasefor herself.
Here's a list of Hallmark's findings on what mothers want alongwith other great gift ideas:
--Anything made, or selected, by their child or grandchild.
--A day of no chores or cooking.
--Time spent with the kids (if they no longer live in the home).
--Something she mentioned in passing, and they remembered (showsthey were really listening).
--Pampering (waiting on her, massage, spa day).
--A Mother’s Day card she will keep forever(Hallmark, of course!)
--Sleep
--The best of everything for her family
--No dishes in the sink
--More time for family relationships
--Being told how much she's appreciated
--A gift with emotional or sentimental value
Moms told Hallmark researchers that they especially don't wantto have to tell their husbands and/or children what they want;rather, they want them to figure it out.
On a practical level, gift giving can be made easy if you canfigure out what kind of Mom you are buying for, and pick a giftin that category. Here are some category ideas:
--Pet Lover Mom
--Pamper Mom
--Techno Mom
--Home Depot Mom
--Style Mom
--Artsy Mom
--Decorator Mom
--Sports Mom
A good website to buy from in these categories ishttp://www.gifts.com/

================================================================2. Beautiful Basil================================================================
Basil is one of my favorite herbs and essential oils. I justplanted basil in my herb garden hoping for full bountiful andbeautiful plants. Basil is always prominent in my home-madesalads. so I prefer to go in my backyard and pick my own, asopposed to buying it from the store. Basil is used frequently inItalian cooking. Surprisingly it is not native to Italy, but toIndia and Iran.
In India, basil was considered sacred, and was believed byHindus to be a passport to heaven. Basil comes from the Greekword "basileus" that means "king".
There are more than 140 varieties of basil, but the "ocimumbasilicum" is most used in aromatherapy.
I don't leave home without basil essential oil in my purse.Not only am I attracted to the smell, but the benefits of oneinhalation, or one application, are tremendous. Although Imostly associate an application of basil with relieving musclespasms (particularly the muscles behind the neck), it is goodfor so many other things. Mental clarity is one of them.
Here are some other benefits of Basil essential oil:
--Alleviates anxiety, depression, fatigue
--Good for headaches, migraines, menstrual disorders
--Effective for respiratory disorders and rheumatism
--Alleviates stress and nervous conditions

=========================================2. Tub Tips=========================================
Are you considering the purchase and installation of afreestanding tub? These tips are from Better Homes and GardensKitchen and Bath Ideas and HGTV Baths.
The Basics
--Select a dreamy destination, such as the Greek Isles, as thebasis for your escape and for your room’s color scheme.
--Choose an eye-catching tub as your focal point.
--Use wall-mounted or floor-mounted faucets for more options intub placement and room for bather(s).
--Wispy curtains hung canopy-style can add drama.
--Place tables nearby to keep bath amenities close.
Space issues
--Standard tub dimensions are for the overall footprint of theunit, not the space inside. Although standard tubs are 5 feetlong, buying one 5 1/2 or 6 feet long will allow adults tostretch out.
--Standard depths are 14 to 17 inches which is fine for bathingchildren but depths of 20 to 22 inches will help keep theshoulders warm for adults wanting to sink down into toastybubbles.
The Costs
Soaking tubs:Basic, 5-foot enameled steel or Fiberglas model: $90-$175.Cast iron: $250-$1,300.Acrylic: $300-$1,000.
Freestanding soaking tub (claw-foot, pedestal, slipper-style):$1,600-$3,700-plus, depending on materials.
Whirlpool tubs:Basic 5-foot model with a 1 to 1.5-horsepower motor:$600-$1,500.
Large, luxurious model with four to 10 jets, internal heater anda 2- to 3-horsepower variable-speed motor: $2,000-$5,000.
Whirlpool tub with exotic water elements (shiatsu massage,waterfall feature): $5,000-$7,000-plus.
Basic bathtub materials
--Fiberglas: Lightweight and inexpensive material that can beeasily molded into extras such as seats, soap holders and grabbars. Tubs are available in many colors, but the color fades overtime. Fiberglas scratches easily.
--Acrylic: Also easily molded. It costs a little more, but thecolor is embedded throughout, which means it holds color betterand scratches won't show.
--Enameled steel: Tubs are shaped from sheets of steel, thencoated with baked-on enamel, which tends to be thin and prone tochipping. These tubs don't hold heat well and can be noisy. Anundercoating can muffle sound and help retain heat.
--Cast iron: The toughest tub material around. The cast iron iscoated with baked-on enamel, but it is thick, which offers arichly colored finish. It’s durable and resistant to chips,stains, scratches, dents and cracks. A cast-iron tub can weigh300 to 400 pounds, though, and your bathroom floor may need to bereinforced.

==================================================4. Happy National Nurses Week==================================================
This is National Nurses Week. It began this past Saturday, May6th and ends this Friday, May 12th, which is FlorenceNightingale's birthday.
I've been a nurse for 29 years. I used to be an Intensive CareUnit Nurse. I haven't worked in the hospital for 20 years.People say "why did you leave nursing?". I never left nursing.Nursing isn't something you leave. Nursing is something youbecome, and you always are. Kinda like being a mother - once anurse, always a nurse. Interesting how they are being celebratedsimultaneously. We're in celebration of the power of thefeminine this week.
Florence Nightingale said "Put the patient in the best place fornature to act upon them". At Home Spa Lady we teach people how tocreate an every day environment that is supportive. It helpspeople to maximize their greatest potential for high levelwellness (resulting in great beauty!) This is the one of thebest things that nursing can offer.
