1. Do You Need a Thyroid Coach?
================================
Why on earth would someone need a coach for a gland in their
body?
I'm even chuckling as I'm writing this - it sounds so
ridiculous...but at the same time - it's brilliant! I love it!
Actually, this is a wonderful example of having a holistic
approach to our health care. Health care professionals that we
hire... physicians and the other specialists (yes, we HIRE them)
...should assume the role of a coach!
Here is a forward thinking physician/nurse - husband/wife team
who view the new world of health care this way. Their specialty
has been the thyroid gland - and now they are branching out into
new approaches for mild hormonal imbalances in general.
Authors of the book "Thyroid Power: 10 Steps to Total Health"
doctors Richard (MD) and Karilee (PhD) are two of the most
progressive health care experts I have come across in my
years of holistic nursing and alternative medicine.
I have known Karilee for more than 15 years through our
affiliation as former board members for the American Holistic
Nurses Association. Her physical energy level and enthusiasm for
life are astounding - especially for someone who has had "thyroid
issues".
I've always believed that the best people to help others with
issues are those who have lived through the same challenges
themselves.
Here are some questions that Karilee and Richard ask you to
answer when you are considering whether you need a thyroid coach:
--Have you repeatedly felt something was "off" with your
hormones, but your doctor says you're fine?
--Have you asked your doctor for thyroid testing, only to be
inadequately evaluated (with just TSH test)-- or told you don't
need testing?
--Do you feel you are doing well on your diet and exercise but
are still not losing weight?
--Do you feel tired much of the time but don't know why?
--Have you had some depression that has perhaps been treated
with pharmaceutical drugs but not properly evaluated to see if
your thyroid could be the cause?
Next week I am going to interview Karilee in a "Green Tea with
Marilee" Telewebcast and we are going to find out her suggestions
and secrets to identify thyroid problems AND the natural
recommendations that she and her physician husband offer.
Karilee also brings energetic aspects into her work. The
fifth chakra is associated with the thyroid gland and in this
interview I am going to ask her to elaborate on that
relationship.
I want to hear about how "speaking our truth" (psychodynamic
aspect related to the fifth chakra) is related to thyroid health.

2. Eat Seaweed: Nature's Richest Source of Iodine
==================================================
Kelp is a seaweed and is nature's richest source of iodine.
Iodine is a component of thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and
triiodothyronine (T3), and is essential to human life.
The thyroid actually adds iodine to the amino acid tyrosine to
create these hormones T3 and T4. These thyroid hormones regulate
metabolism in every cell of the body and play an important role
in all functions of the body. Iodine deficiency can have a
devastating impact on your health and well-being.
I'm anxious to talk with Karilee about her recommendations on
kelp and other foods and nutritional supplements to keep our
thyroids empowered!

3. Essential Oil Tip: Balancing the Thyroid
============================================
In the Young Living world of essential oils - there is no
"treatment" for conditions per se. . .
. . .and this is one of the things I found so compelling about
Gary Young - he truly sees the big holographic picture.
In his teachings, Gary speaks about "balancing the system" with
essential oils, not "treating the disease".
In the case of thyroid issues, we would look at what system the
thyroid is part of, which is the "endocrine" system. Then, we
find the oil or oil blend that is indicated to balance that
system.
In Young Living the best oil for this is "Endoflex".
Apply directly to the thyroid (base of the throat/front neck) or
on the foot reflex points for the thyroid.
Order your essential oils from your Young Living
distributor or by going to http://tinyurl.com/aenfp

"Sally, the tests show your thyroid is perfectly normal" replied
the doctor. "If anything is overactive, it's your fork."
