1. The Heat is On ~ Menopause Tips
===================================
I'm not taking any credit for these tips.
And it's not because I haven't gotten there yet (ha ha!).
It's because these tips come from the writings
and wisdom of an amazing woman who wrote the
book "Menopausal Years The Wise Woman Way".
Susun Weed's book has been known as "the menopausal bible".
Dr. Christiane Northrup says that "Susun's wild green wisdom
has inspired me for years!"
And guess what? As a Home Spa Lady reader you can have live
access to Susun later this month in a "Green Tea with Marilee"
Interview Teleseminar (get details below).
But meanwhile, here are some tips from her book no matter where
you are in the process ~ pre / post / or right smack in the
middle:
Pre-Menopausal Years
--Nourish and Tonify your entire hormonal system with mineral-
rich, phytoestrogen-rich nourishing herbal infusions
--Increase calcium-rich foods ~ green leafies and yogurt
--Physical Activity to maintain peak bone mass
--Don't diet! Dieting decreases bone mass and weakens heart
--Plan your "Crone's Time Away" for when you need it
Menopausal Climax Years
--Take time for solitude - turn your energy toward yourself
--Relax and enjoy your hot flashes - healthy women have lots of
flashes
--Spend time with a journal
--Experiment with eggs, meat, and butter - these can decrease
symptoms
Post-Menopausal Years
--Eat more veggies, fruits, meat and grains, and lentils
--Move, walk, dance, stretch, go, inquire, keep active
--Write a legal will - and revise it every ten years
--Nourish yourself with lots of nutrients - step up digestive
ability
Learn this and lots more when you join Susun Weed live on the
"Green Tea with Marilee" Teleseminar.

2. This Will Never Happen Again
=================================
On Sunday May 6th something will happen
that will never happen again - ever.
At three minutes and four seconds
after 2 AM the time and the date will be:
02:03:04 05/06/07
===============================
3. Sell What You Know
===============================
You may not know this but besides
this "Home Spa Lady" material I share
with you I also teach Internet Marketing
to Health Care Professionals and
Healing Arts Practitioners.
I've been offering some serious
"teleseminar" classes with industry
experts. This current series is
closed - there is one class left
and that is next week.
I'll be offering them again in
the near future, but occasionally
I want to refer you to some specials
that I can offer via these expert marketers
that are guests in my classes.
Because of my great relationship with
Alex Mandossian I can offer my Home Spa Lady
readers a special that saves you $79 on a 2 hour
tele-training seminar with this special man.
That means the seminar will only cost you $20!.
Let me first say this - don't underestimate
what you know. It's easy to take it for
granted - because you know it! And there are
people out there that want what you know (especially
those of you who are in holistic health and the
healing arts).
You have spent years of your life learning and
practicing at least one or two things that you
could teach.
It's easier than you think. You can learn to:
>>> Sell Info Products At the Speed Of Sound <<<
If you can talk on a teleseminar and record it
and do one more important thing, you
can become a wealthy Information Marketer.
To get VIP access to this 2-hour tele-training
with Alex Mandossian use this VIP Code and
pay only $20 - that's $79 off the full price.

4. Essential Oil Tip: Cut Down on Those Flashes
================================================
This is right out of the Essential Desk Reference
-but my greatest learning about this tip has come
from numerous women I have met over the years. This
works like a charm to prevent lots of heat.
Endoflex essential oil blend under each ankle on
both feet at least twice a day. It simply balances
the hormonal system.
Do it in the morning and at night.
And when the heat is on and you want to cool down -
put a drop of peppermint on your hands and rub the
back of your neck.
To order the Essential Desk Reference book
Order your essential oils from your Young Living distributor or by going to Young Living's Website

6.Recipe of the Week: A Healthier Twist. . .
=============================================
. . .on last week's recipe
I have to admit, I was feeling a bit unsure when I put
the recipe in last week's issue because of the heavy cream.
But I put it in anyway.
I received an email from Dorothy, a Home Spa Lady reader, with a
great alternative to the cream for the Asparagus Soup. I got
her permission to share it with all of you, so here it is -
directly from her email - in conversation style.
Thanks Dorothy!
---------------------------------
Hi Marilee -
I have been making a cream of asparagus soup for many years now
and right after I made my very first batch I really felt I could
do without the cream part. What I use in place of the cream/milk
are potatoes. Yup. I chop them into squares and put them in
early on (my favorite are organic red potatoes and leave the
skins on). It simply makes the best pot of soup. Enjoy.
Yours truly,
Dorothy
----------------------------------
From Marilee: Can I share your recipe with my readers?
----------------------------------
Hi Marilee-
I would be delighted if you wanted to share that information.
Generally, I will use 1 pound of asparagus. I'll give you my
recipe - it is in my head, so feel free to adapt it to your
liking. Before I tell you about it though I have to tell you
about something my sister, Evelyn, sent me. It was info about
olive oil not being able to withstand high temps and how it is
altered molecularly, and ever since then I do all of my sauteing
in organic coconut oil. I absolutely love the subtle flavor it
lends to ALL of my dishes cooked that way.
2-3 Tbs organic coconut oil
1 1/2 cups chicken stock
1/2 cup diced onion
1 cup water
1/2 cup diced celery
2-3 medium red potatoes w/skin, cubed
2 cloves finely chopped garlic
1 lb asparagus cut in 1" pieces, remove woody ends
1/2-1 tsp salt to taste
If you can, purchase all organic ingredients, it really makes a
difference.
--Dice onion, celery and garlic.
--In a large pot over medium heat add coconut oil and saute the
onion, celery and garlic 4-5 minutes stirring frequently.
--Add chicken stock, water, potatoes and salt.
--Cook on medium/high heat about 8-10 minutes (potatoes will
begin to get tender).
--Add asparagus and cook for 8-10 minutes longer or until
asparagus & potatoes are cooked.
--In a blender or food processor pulse to lightly puree.
--Serve warm.
Feel free to add a little/take away a little to your taste.
Yours truly,
Dorothy

7. HSL's Joke or Cute Quote of the Week
=========================================
I wish I knew the person who sent this - I want to thank you
with a big hug! -Marilee
------
I've seen two shows lately that went on and on about how mid-
life is a great time for women.
Just last week Oprah had a whole show on how great menopause will
be....Puhleeeeeeeze!
I've had a few thoughts of my own and would like to share them
with you.
Whether you are pushing 40, 50, 60 (or maybe even pushing
your luck), you'll probably relate.
-------
Mid-life is when the growth of hair on our legs slows down.
This gives us plenty of time to care for our newly acquired
mustache.
In mid-life women no longer have upper arms, we have wing spans.
We are no longer women in sleeveless shirts, we are flying
squirrels in drag.
Mid-life is when you can stand naked in front of a mirror and
you can see your rear without turning around.
Mid-life is when you go for a mammogram and you realize that
this is the only time someone will ask you to appear topless.
Mid-life is when you want to grab every firm young lovely in a
tube top and scream, "Listen honey, even the Roman empire fell
and those will too."
Mid-life brings wisdom to know that life throws us curves and
we're sitting on our biggest ones.
Mid-life is when you look at your know-it-all, beeper-wearing
teenager and think: "For this I have stretch marks?"
In mid-life your memory starts to go. In fact the only thing we
can retain is water.
Mid-life means that your Body By Jake now includes Legs By Rand
McNally -- more red and blue lines than an accurately scaled map
of Wisconsin.
Mid-life means that you become more reflective . . .You start
pondering the "big" questions like:
--What is life?
--Why am I here?
--How much Healthy Choice ice cream can I eat before it's no
longer a healthy choice?
But mid-life also brings with it an appreciation for what is
important.
We realize that breasts sag, hips expand and chins
double, but our loved ones make the journey worthwhile.
Would any of you trade the knowledge that you have now, for the
body you had way back when?
Maybe our bodies simply have to expand to hold all the wisdom
and love we've acquired.
That's my philosophy and I'm sticking to it!
