Identifying air leaks in your home will help you put a
stop to energy loss. Light a stick of incense and pass it
around windows. Look for horizontal smoke to know if
you've got a leak. Use low cost weather stripping,
silicone sealant or door sweeps to fix the problem and
reduce energy loss.

2. Essential Oil Tip: Kill Weeds Naturally
===============================================

Essential oils can naturally destroy weeds.

A study was done by the Appalachian Fruit Research
Station in West Virginia on the herbicidal effects of plant-
derived oils (aka essential oils).

Twenty five oils were tested for their herbicidal effects on
dandelion leaves. The most effective oils found were red thyme,
summer savory, cinnamon and clove. These were found to be the
most phytotoxic.

Cinnamon had the highest herbicidal activity. This was primarily
because of eugenol, the main component in cinnamon.

Essential oils can be used directly on the weeds. Or they can be
added to other natural products such as herbicidal soaps, to
enhance their effects. These soaps work by penetrating the waxy
coating on plant leaves and cause them to dry out.

4. Recipe of the Week: Make Your Own Green Smoothie
=====================================================

Here's a 'template' recipe to make your own green smoothies!

The options are endless - use 50% fruits and 50% vegetables.
If you want it a bit more sweet - just add some liquid.


Ingredients

1 bunch green leafy vegetable of choice (50% of total)
Fruit of choice (50% of total)
1-2 Bananas or 1 avocado to emulsify (make creamy)
ginger, lemon, parsley or, stevia to taste


Directions

--Put all ingredients in your blender.
--Add clean water to cover all ingredients.
--Blend.
--Drink immediately.
