==================================2. Is Your Life Crazy Busy?==================================
Does this sound like it could be your day?. . .
"Ok, I'm going to wash the car...But first I need to gothrough the mail.
Oh, yeah, the trash can is full. . .
. . Ok, I'll just put the bills on my desk and take the trash canout, but since I'm going to be near the mailbox anyway, I'll paythese few bills first. . .
. . .Now where is my checkbook? Oops...there's only one checkleft. My extra checks are in my desk. . .
. . .Oh, there's the soda I was drinking... I'm going to look forthose checks... But first I need to put my soda further away fromthe computer or maybe I'll pop it into the fridge to keep it coldfor a while...
. . I head towards the kitchen and the plants catch my eye...theyneed some water... I set the soda on the counter and uh ....oh!there's my glasses...I was looking for them all morning! I'dbetter put them away first. . .
. . I fill a container with water and head for the flower pots-Aaaaaagh! someone left the TV remote in the kitchen. We'll neverthink to look in kitchen tonight when we want to watch televisionso I'd better put it back in the family room. . .
. . I splash some water into the pots and onto the floor, I throwthe remote onto a soft cushion on the sofa and I head back downthe hall figuring out what it was I was going todo...........!!??!!
End of Day: The car isn't washed, the bills are unpaid, the sodais on the kitchen counter, flowers are half watered, thecheckbook has one check in it and I can't seem to find my carkeys...When I try to figure out how come nothing got done today,I'm baffled because I KNOW I WAS BUSY ALL DAY LONG!!!"
If you can relate to these course of events, you may beinterested in reading the new book "CrazyBusy:Overstretched, Overbooked, and About to Snap!" by AttentionDeficit Disorder (ADD) expert Edward M. Hallowell M.D.
He says not everybody has ADD, but many suffer from its symptoms, such as:
--A tendency to always feel in a rush and impatient
--Losing focus in the middle of a task or conversation
--A tendency to be in the middle of many projects withoutcompleting any
--Feeling powerless over piles of stuff
This book has a chapter on "Ten Key Principles to Managing ModernLife" Here are a few of those principles:
--Do what matters most to you
--Keep a positive environment with positive relationships
--Don't waste time on screens (TV and computers) set alarm clocksnext to your screens
--Delegate what you don't like to do or aren't good at
--Slow down and linger, its the time you do your best thinking
--Play

========================3. Honey Heals Wounds========================
Honey has healing properties. Winnie the Pooh's been on theright track all along!
Honey has been used for its healing properties for more than fourthousand years. In ancient Egypt, more than 500 healing formulasincluded honey. Greeks used honey to cure skin conditions.
In a recent issue of SAGE Publications' International Journal ofLower Extremity Wounds, a review article reports that honey iseffective as a wound dressing and is beneficial in the followingways:
--Honey's antibacterial quality rapidly clears existinginfection and protects wounds from additional infection
--Honey debrides wounds and removes malodor
--Honey's anti-inflammatory activity reduces edema and minimizesscarring
--Honey stimulates growth of granulation and epithelial tissuesto speed healing
The article "The Evidence Supporting the Use of Honey as a WoundDressing" can be found on The International Journal of LowerExtremity Wounds' website at http://ijlew.sagepub.com.
=================================================4. Homespun Remedies for Children with Autism=================================================
April is National Autism Awareness Month.
There is much discussion on what causes ASDs (Autism SpectrumDisorders). The mercury and vaccination issue is what we arehearing mostly about these days. Earlier this month I was struckby a full page ad in the USA Today on the connection betweenvaccinations and the skyrocketing autism rate. This ad, funded bypoliticians, mentioned how the CDC is turning their backs on thisentire issue.
Last week Robert Nash M.D., Chairman of the American Board ofMetal Toxicology, joined me in a Teleseminar for our Home SpaLady community. He shared with us how the metals and mercury inthese vaccines are extremely potent to the body, their effects, and how to rid the body of them. This information will beavailable in the near future on the Home Spa Lady website.
As a Nurse Healer in private practice for many years, I have hadthe opportunity to work with children with autism (up to age 21),and Aspergers syndrome. I also have had clients and students inmy Healing Touch and Essential Oil classes who were mothers, teachers, or therapists of children with these disorders.
In my experience I have found autistic children to be extremelyresponsive to subtle energies. These therapeutic subtle energiesinclude modalities such as Healing Touch, Reiki, and BrennanHealing Science techniques. Autistic children are also responsiveto therapeutic grade essential oils because of the frequency inthe oils. The oils that I have found most effective are Valor (anessential oil blend that has Frankincense, Blue Tansy, Rosewood, and Spruce), and also Joy (an essential oil that has lemon, mandarin, bergamot, ylang yang, rose, rosewood, geranium, palmarosa, roman chamomile, and jasmine). These are Young Livingessential oil blends. I only use Young Living essential oilsbecause of their superior quality, especially their vibrational(subtle energetic) effects. This company has the unique abilityto extract the purest, what I like to call "information", fromthe plants, trees, and herbs.
The best way to use Valor is on the feet. It can help"ground" and "focus" the child. A great way to use Joy isfor the attending adult (teacher or Mom) to wear it, and thechild then responds to the frequency. When working with thepurest essential oils, it is not about the scent, its about the"chi", the "life force", or "information" from its source.
Another very effective holistic approach for treatingautism is paying attention to food. Food has a huge impact onchildren with autism. Certain foods affect the flora in thegastrointestinal system. Donna Gates, author of the Body EcologyDiet, is an expert on the "eco-terrain" of the gut of theautistic child. I have trained with Donna and she is a frequentspeaker at the DAN conferences (Defeat Autism Now) This pastconference tagline: Autism is Treatable, Autism is Preventable.Donna Gates' website is http://www.bodyecologydiet.com
For very specific approaches to tackling day-to-day problems withthe autistic child, a good read on tips and practical strategiesis "Homespun Remedies: Strategies in the Home And Community forChildren With Autism Spectrum And Other Disorders".
Dion E. Betts and Nancy J. Patrick, authors of "HomespunRemedies", write about ways parents and caretakers can work withthings like bathing, feeding, haircuts, and shopping. The bookis divided into four parts: home life, community, hygiene, andschools and organizations.
Dion Betts said he hopes his book readers learn: "Having achild with autism spectrum can be a positive and fulfillingexperience and it doesn't have to be frustrating".

=========================================6. HSL's Joke, or Cute Quote, of the Week=========================================
Morris was in his usual place in the morning sitting at thetable, reading the paper after breakfast. He came across anarticle about a beautiful actress that was about to marry afootball player who was known primarily for his lack of IQand common knowledge.
He turned to his wife Sherry, with a look of question on hisface. "I'll never understand why the biggest schmucks get themost attractive wives."
His wife replies, "Why thank you, dear!"
