1. Excuse Me Miss , Can You Par-a-digm? A Look at the 'New' Economy
=====================================================================

Everyone today is complaining about the economy.

I complain too. . . .when I see my favorite restaurants
shut down, or products I love disappear, or learn of a
family member who has lost a job.

But I also see tremendous opportunity (and its not just my
sunny Sagitarrian optimism!). One of my favorite Robert Collier
quotes that reminds me that there is good here:

"In every adversity there lies the
seed of an equivalent advantage."

We are in a paradigm shift and new models are emerging.

Institutions, organizations and structures are breaking
down, and new ones are breaking through and becoming
established as the new norm.

People are losing their jobs and homes, but a new spirit is
being built out of self-survival, and communities are
coming together to help one another.

More folks are actually taking better care of themselves
and are paying more attention to their health and their position
in life. . . . because now they need to be more responsible for
themselves than ever before. There is no longer a Big Brother to lean on.

This is a good thing because inherent in this problem is
the power of the people going back into their hands.

Many folks aren't used to this, and actually resist it.

But, like with all change, if you 'go with it' and not
resist. . . it can take you to a higher level than
you could have imagined.

The key for this one? Making sure your mind shifts with
the economic shift.......combining that, with motivation
to get in there and turn these lemons into lemonade.......
. . .and with this, a new world can take form.

You may have never considered yourself an entrepreneur,
but I bet you have thought about starting a little business
or practice, or writing a book, or sharing that magical
message in you that would help others.

If that is the case, this is the time.

And it has never been easier now that the internet and new
forms of communication and media are at our fingertips.

The word 'entrepreneur' is becoming a popular buzz word in the
new economy because being able to create our own income based on
who we are and our gifts is a great solution for today's
economic difficulties.

I've sensed this for the past year, but have been reinforced
by this as I see my favorite daily newspaper, USA Today, now
running special features on becoming an entrepreneur and how
to run your own business. This topic is popping up all over the
place.

If you have a inkling of a desire to become more empowered in your
life financially, and would like to create an income from who you
are and what your passion is. . . whether its helping others or
developing a product, or selling or distributing an already existing
product. . . then I suggest you take a look at a program that can
help you market your passion and create another (or many)
streams of income based on who you are and what you love to do.

4. Recipe of the Week: Kiwi Cafe Salad
==================================================

Kiwi Cafe Salad

This is an awesome salad! So different. . .
. . .it can be a light meal - add some delish
crusty bread


5 oz. firm tofu, drained and cut into 1-inch cubes
OR you can use cubed feta cheese
1 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 Tbsp. (30 ml) olive oil
3-4 green kiwis
8 black olives, pitted
1 cup toasted croûtons

Dressing 1 Tbsp. cider vinegar, 1 Tbsp. olive oil

1. Best Kept Secret for Common Colds and Flu
=================================================

The expression "There is no cure for the common cold!"
is a popular phrase because most colds and flus are
viral infections, they are not bacterial infections.

Antibiotics work only on bacterial infections.

Antibiotics are not effective against viral infections.

And antibiotics are really the only arsenal that conventional
medicine has for infections. (Well there are a few
anti-viral meds that are extremely toxic to the liver and
thank goodness docs don't prescribe frequently).

So consequently, the expression "There is no cure for the
common cold" has become a popular *meme.

(*Definition of meme = phrase used to describe a catchphrase
or concept that spreads quickly from person to person - like
a virus - ha ha!)

If a cure were to indicate healing of the problem and an
eradication of symptoms, then medicine has yet to discover
the best kept secret (that many of you know!) which is right
under their nose (literally).

Essential Oils.

Essential oils come from a variety of plants that have many
amazing healing properties which include naturally fighting viruses.

My intention here is to write only about 'therapeutic grade essential
oils, not perfume grade oils that you mostly find in stores and also
promoted through the English Model of Aromatherapy).

When used, essential oils create an environment where pathogenic
organisms like viruses, fungus and other bad bacteria and flu-bugs
(yes, maybe even the swine flu) cannot survive.

If you already know about using essential oils for keeping your
immune system up and protecting you against infection, then I am
here to tell you that you are an extremely empowered and fortunate
individual who has a gift of this special knowledge. And if you
have access to an excellent resource of essential oils - then you
are in a better position than millions of other people who have
to rely an unfortunate false belief that there is "no cure for
the common cold".

In my humble opinion the best essential oils that you can get
on this earth are Young Living Essential Oils.

I personally have had the experience of having the flu that
the YL oils have helped and I've also had experiences with
other stubborn viruses (like Shingles) and have used Young
Living Oils which stopped a painful flare-up (within 24 hours).
Ravensara is what I used for my shingles - and I was so excited
to hear a world authority in therapeutic aromatherapy Kurt
Schnaubelt present on stage last week at the YLEO 2009
Convention that ravensara is indicated for shingles!

There is tremendous fear about the oncoming flu season -
and so many questions about the Swine Flu - if it is as bad
as they are saying - and even questions about the side effects
of the vaccination (which personally I would never take).

If you are armed with an array of the Young Living Essential
Oils, and take other natural preventative measures to keep
your immune system strong - then you have ownership of the
best kept secret to fight colds and the flu.

2. Essential Oil Tip: RC for Colds and Flu
==========================================

RC was one of my first favorite blends over 13 years ago
when I started with Young Living. It is a combo of
different eucalyptus' and myrtle and some other great oils.

It smells so fresh and clean and can clear your
stuffy head and chest. It has wonderful antimicrobial
properties that can attack bad bacteria and viruses.

One of the things that amazed me the most was when
the research was done on MRSA and it was the RC that
was found to be most effective in eradicating MRSA.

This is a MUST HAVE in your home first aid kit.

4. Recipe of the Week: Raw Gluten F'ree Apple Pie
==================================================

Almond Pie Crust:
1.5 cups almonds
1 tsp sea salt
1.5 cups pitted dates

Syrup:
1/2 cup pitted dates
1 orange, peeled and seeded
splash of water (as needed)

Apple Pie Filling:
5 cups apples, peeled, and thinly sliced (about 5 or 6 apples).
1 cup raisins (not pictured)
2 tbsps ground cinnamon
dash of nutmeg (optional)

Preparation
To put this simple pie together you’ll need a food processor and a blender.
No oven!

Directions for the Crust:
1.In a food processor, pulse almonds and salt until nuts are in small pieces.
Do not overprocess as you want the crust to have almond chunks.
2.Slowly add small batches of dates into processor to mix with almonds.
The dates will bind the almonds to form a dough.
3.Press almond and date dough into a pie pan.
Set aside.

Directions for the Syrup:
1.In a blender, place orange first.
Add dates and blend.
Add water to help syrup mix well (if needed).
2.Add syrup to apples. Set aside.
The longer you let the apples stand in the syrup, the longer the apples will "cook"

Apple Pie Filling:
1.Place sliced apples in syrup in a large bowl with raisins.
2.Toss with the cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg.
3.Spoon apple pie filling into pie crust.
