============================================1. Make Your Skin Spa-rkle for the Fourth============================================
Skin, hidden for months under winter clothing, unofficiallybecomes exposed on July 4th weekend.
A great way to prepare the skin for this annual unveiling is witha body scrub.
Body scrubs make your skin sparkly clean. They help exfoliate thedead skin cells and allow fresh new skin cells to surface. Newskin cells have a vibrant glow compared to dead cells.
There are tons of commercial scrubs available, but why bother toshop? It's so easy to whip up your own scrub from what's in yourkitchen cabinets already.
Here's an easy scrub to make:
--Olive Oil 1/2 cup--Fine Sea Salt 1/2 cup--Lavender Essential Oil 10 drops (optional)
-Mix together, and place in clean dry jar.-Use this after you bathe or shower (but stay in tub/shower torinse off).-Place small amount in your hand.-Gently scrub in circular motion on skin.-Scrub entire body. Be gentle on, or avoid, sensitive areas.-Be careful stepping out of tub/shower, it may be slippery fromthe oil.-Pat dry with bath towel.
============================================2. Ya Gotta Love This Tip - Fr*ee 411============================================
This has nothing to do with Home Spa-ing (unless you makeyour directory assisted phone calls from your bath tub) but it'sa great tip to know.
What does it costs to dial information from your cell phone? Howabout from your home phone? Anywhere from $.75 to $1.75 percall!
Here is a phone number for information that costs younothing. It is fr*ee on your cell phone (except your cellminutes) and fr*ee on your home phone.
Dial 1-800-373-3411 (that is 1-800-F,-R,-E,-E,-4-1-1) to usedirectory assistance for looking up a phone number without beingcharged.
=======================================3. Can This Explode in Your Stomach?=======================================
Soda and Mints. Diet Coke and Mentos. Yuch.
I say, arrogantly, "Not for me. I don't eat these things anyway. These are chemical foods".
It's not unusual for an average person to eat these together.
And can this explode in your stomach? Watch this video:
http://tinyurl.com/cydvc
By the way, this is not recommended for internal cleansing!
=====================================================4. Essential Oil Tip of the Week: Quick Burn Remedy=====================================================
Be careful of those sparklers and fireworks, and the hot, summer sun.
If you get burned from sun or fun, lavender oil is agreat "have-on-hand" home remedy (until you get medicalattention, should you need it).
In the 18th century, chemist Gattefosse, discovered thehealing properties of lavender when he inadvertently put hisburned hand in a basin. He thought the basin was water but itwas lavender oil. The burn healed quickly without scarring. Thusentered the dawn of present day French aromatherapy.
Today, use several drops of lavender on and around the affectedarea immediately after a burn. It can greatly reducesymptoms and pain and scarring. It is imperative to use atherapeutic, not perfume-grade oil.
Young Living has two wonderful lavender oils. I prefer the St.Maries lavender. It is believed to have a higher level of healingproperties then even the lavender from France. It is grown inpristine mountains of St. Maries, Idaho.
LavaDerm Cooling Mist is a must have at the beach. It helpscombat that hot and burned feeling from the sun. It containslavender and aloe vera.
You can order the highest quality therapeutic oil from YoungLiving. See your Young Living distributor or go to:http://tinyurl.com/aenfp

Any advice from you Home Spa-ers out there for Paula, a newreader? Here's her email:
"Hello Marilee!
I am new to your ezine and love it! Thank You!
I have a question maybe you can help with. Recently I got theidea to incorporate essential oils in ceremonies/rituals such ashouse blessings, sacred unions, new businesses/ventures etc. This would be by diffusing, spritzers or any other means that isappropriate. Any suggestions as to where I can find that infoand/or others that do a similar service?"
From Marilee:
"This is a great idea, Paula. Using essential oils in ceremony isa great way to seal contracts. They bring energy, good sense andgood scents, to events and ceremony.
My friend, Linda Smith, authored a book I would like to recommendto you called "Healing Oils, Healing Hands". It is full ofhistory of how essential oils were used in biblical times forrituals and blessings by the process of anointing. She describesmany techniques and applications for the oils. You can order herbook from her website http://www.htspiritualministry.com.
Linda also teaches an extremely popular nationwide AromatherapyCertification program. I highly recommend it. Go to her websiteabove to find an upcoming training near you."
================================================================6. Recipe of the Week: Red, White, and Blue Fruit Salad================================================================
--1 pint of fresh blueberries--1 pound of fresh red seedless grapes--1 8 oz container of sour cream--Stevia
--Wash fruit and pat dry--Mix together--Fold in sour cream and add Stevia to taste--Chill and serve.
=========================================7. HSL's Joke, or Cute Quote, of the Week=========================================
The Fourth of July weekend was coming up, and the nursery schoolteacher took the opportunity to tell her class about patriotism.
"We live in a great country," she said. "One of the things weshould be happy is that, in this country, we are all free."
One little boy came walking up to her from the back of the room.He stood with his hands on his hips and said. . . ."I'm not free. I'm four."

=====================================================1. Your Signature Spritzer=====================================================
"Spritzing" is a wonderful way to use your essential oils, especially in the upcoming summer months. You can make spritzersfor your body, mind, emotions, and environment. You can even usethem on clothing.
Making a spritzer is simple. Spritzer bottles are glass vialswith a spray top. Fill an empty spritzer bottle with distilledwater and your favorite essential oil or blend. You can purchasethese bottles for $0.85 through Abundant Healthhttp://www.abundanthealth4u.com. The 2 oz Amber Glass Vial withSpray Top is what you want. The code # is 9120.
For a 2 oz. bottle use 40 drops of the essential oil.
Here are a few ways you can "Spritz":
--Spritz your face to hydrate your skin
--Keep at your bedside to spritz your pillow
--Cleanse and purify your environment
--Spritz overtired feet
--Keep in the bathroom to freshen the air
--Spritz clothing before ironing
--Spritz your lingerie before a special evening
--Carry in your travel bag to stay awake while driving
--Freshen your aura after being in a toxic environment
--Spritz to elevate your mood
You can also use floral waters instead of distilled water. Floralwater is the by-product in the making of essential oils. You canalso use part witch hazel, part floral water, and a few dropsof oil. Your bottles should last up 4 to 6 months.
============================================2. Common Sense for Breast Health============================================
I remember learning Anatomy and Physiology when I was studying tobecome a Registered Nurse. I wanted a more thorough understandingof the lymphatic system and felt what we learned was limited.Conventional medicine didn't pay much attention to the importanceof the lymphatic system for one's health. I wonder. . . has thischanged?
Lymphatic fluid circulates in tiny vessels similar to veinsthroughout the body. The fluid (or lymph) is clear, or slightlyyellowish, and watery. It comes from the tissues of the body.Lymph helps remove bacteria and carries cells that help fightinfection and disease. It's an important part of the immunesystem.
Lymphatic fluid doesn't circulate well without our help. Itdoesn't have a pump to move it like the our blood vessels havethe heart. Movement of the body is the only way to move lymph.Without regular movement the lymph can become stagnant. Also, tight clothing, such as bras, can press on the vessels andrestrict the flow.
Lymphatic tissue is very abundant in the breast area. There aremany lymph nodes under the arm pit. These clusters of tissue helpprotect the body from foreign organisms and cancer cells.Mobilization of lymph can help prevent breast congestion andmaybe even cancers.
Women often intentionally restrict the movement of their breastswhich is not healthy. Daily self care should include breastmovement. It can be as simple as moving your bra's shoulder strapup and down. It's common sense.
Cheryl Chapman is a dear friend and holistic nursing colleague. She is also a well known massage therapist and a breast careadvocate. "Phluffing Your Girls" is an adorable expression shecoined for this process She recommends moving your breasts likeyou are fluffing a pillow with your hands.
Here are some of the benefits:
--Reduce breast congestion
--Soften breasts
--Decrease lumps and cysts from fibrocystic breasts
--Move lymph
--Bring T-Cells to protect the breasts
--Reduce breast tenderness during pregnancy
--Enhance breastfeeding
--Easier to do a self breast exam
--Maintain healthy breast tissue
============================================================3. Essential Oil Tip of the Week: Fight Fear, Fight Germs============================================================
Here's a question for you Young Living oilers:
What oil blend helps to instill courage, combat fear, offerconfidence, and increase self-esteem?
Here's a hint: it's naturally blue in color from Blue Tansy, andit also contains Frankincense, Spruce, and Rosewood
Answer: Valor
Here's another question:
What oil blend has been found to be over 98% anti-microbial in astudy done at Weber State University?
Here's a hint: A group of 15th century robbers used this mixtureto avoid contracting the Plague as they stole from the dead anddying.
Answer: Thieves
And one more question: What do Valor and Thieves have in common(other than being part of the Young Living product line)?
Answer: You can get both of them free this month through aspecial offer. Contact your Young Living distributor or go to:http://tinyurl.com/aenfp
===================================================4. Help This Home Spa-er===================================================
This section involves you!
I've been receiving requests for advice on Home Spa topics. Icertainly have my ideas, but I'm sure you Home Spa-ers out therehave some good ones too.
If you have any answers of your own for the following question, send it in.
"Recently Desperate in Texas" writes:
"We just moved to a new location. (my husband is in themilitary). I think the bathtub here is plastic or something but,the massaging bubble bath mat that I have does not remain securein my bath. Any suggestions on how I can weigh it down? Youcertainly understand that this is essential to my mentalwell-being, happiness and joy etc...I've been a home spa lunaticfor 20 some years."
My answer was:
Dear "Recently Desperate",
Well it sounds like the perfect time to bring the mineral kingdomin to help you here. A great way to take a bath is with rocks, stones, and crystals. Minerals and their ions charge the water. They can hold your bathmat down too. A beautiful river rockcould do just fine if amethyst or quartz is out of your budget.
================================================================5. Recipe of the Week: Roasted Asparagus - Simple and Delicious================================================================ 1 lb. fresh asparagus 2 tsp. olive oil 2 Tbs. Parmesan cheese; shredded 1 lemon; cut into wedges
Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Arrange in single layer in shallow baking pan. With pastry brush, paint the oil on asparagus spears. Roast until tender but still crisp, 8 - 10 min. Turn spears occasionally for even cooking and to avoid browning. Place on serving platter. Sprinkle with cheese. Serve with lemon wedges. Serves 4.
=========================================5. HSL's Joke, or Cute Quote, of the Week=========================================

I'm half blind, can't hearanything quieter than a jet engine, take 40 different medicationsthat make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts. Have 'boutswith dementia. Have poor circulation, hardly feel my hands andfeet anymore. Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92. Have lost all myfriends.

==================================1. Instant Gifts for Fathers Day==================================
Dads are special guys. And let's face it, they're often under-rated. They are the "behind the scenes" force helping to guide, protect, provide, and ground the family unit.
It takes little to make Dads happy. Sometimes just recognitionalone is sufficient. Some of their favorite gifts, as with Moms, are made from the Heart and the Home.
Here are two "instant gifts" that you can print out, fill in, andgive to that special Dad right away.
The first one is a booklet from Class Brain™ to download. You cancreate instant gift certificates of home-made gifts that thelittle ones can give.
These certificates are good for:
--Breakfast in Bed
--Yard work
--Shoe Shine
--Car Wash
--A Mystery Chore

The second one is a "Greatest Dad Award"certificate: http://tinyurl.com/n3vmf
=====================================================2. Natural Prostate Health for the Men in Our Lives=====================================================
Men don't really like to talk about their prostate issues. Butfor vibrant health and cancer protection it's important that theylearn about the prostate gland, and implement health practices forprostate health..The prostate is a walnut-size gland in men that is located belowthe bladder. It surrounds the urethra (the pathway that drainsthe bladder). The function of the prostate is to produce semen. When this gland is dysfunctional it can affect sexual functionand/or urination.
Prostate problems are very common in men. Over half of 40-59 yearold men have enlarged prostates.
Today's stressful lifestyle is said to contribute to prostateproblems from things such as:
--Long hours of sitting (driving, watching TV)
--Eating fast food, especially meat and milk products
--Regular intake of sugar, caffeine, alcohol
The three most common disorders of the prostate are:
--A non-cancerous enlargement called Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy
--An inflammatory infection called Prostatitis
--Cancer (it is one of the most common cancers in males)
Prostate care at home can begin with these easily accessiblefoods, nutrients, and remedies. Here are fourcategories:
Food and Nutrients
--Avoid an excess of animal derived foods such as meats and dairy
--Avoid foods that accumulate environmental toxins - eat organic
--Eat foods high in lycopenes such as tomatoes and tomato-basedfoods, as well as watermelon, pink grapefruit, guavas. Lycopenesgive the foods their reddish color (see http://www.lycopene.org)
--Obtain enough essential fatty acids like 2 tsp flaxseed oil
--Take Zinc and Selenium
--Take Vitamins C, E, and B
--Eat garlic and pumpkin seeds
Herbs
Herbs are used widely to treat prostate disorders, especially inEurope. Here are the herbs that are most popular:
--Saw Palmetto (studies show better than Proscar)
--Stinging Nettle (known as Bazoton in Europe)
--Pygeum (African tree bark)
--Cernilton (from rye pollen)
http://tinyurl.com/olh4s
Homeopathics
According to the "Consumer Guide to Homeopathy" (Dana Ullman,G.P. Putnam’s Sons, 1995), homeopathic remedies for prostatedisorders include:
--Chimaphilla umbellata
--Pulsatilla
--Clematis
--Apis
--Staphysagria
--Selenium
--Baryta carb
--Kali bic
--Causticum.

Essential Oils
According to the Essential Desk Reference, good support for anenlarged prostate is to use one of the following oils in a 50/50dilution with a base massage oil:
--Ledum
--Frankincense
--Myrrh
--Orange
--Idaho balsam fir
--Cumin
--Tsuga
--Blue cypress
or blends of
--Mister
--EndoFlex

============================================================3. How To Talk Spa Talk To Your Man============================================================
Men love to be pampered - whether they admit it or not.
There are some "enlightened men" to whom "spa-ing" is a naturalexperience. But the more "he-man" type guy who wants it, anddoesn't know how to ask for it, needs to be slowly introducedto the spa experience.
Now, we ladies know that sometimes we have to change ourlanguaging just to be on the same page with these guys, rightgirls?
Here are a few ways you can adjust your language to share thespa experience at home with your man:
Whereas she wants: "a full body massage with essential oils"He wants: "a rub down like the pro athletes"
She wants: "a salt glow and balancing bath"He wants: "to do a soak"
She wants: "a raindrop technique on my back"He wants: "you to walk on my back"
She wants: "a foot reflexology session"He wants: "the kinks out of my feet"
She wants: "electrolysis"He wants: "to get the hair out of my nose and ears"
Benefits of learning this new language:
--He’ll feel good and so will you
--His stress level will decrease so YOU will be happier
--He’ll look and smell better
--It gives you an opportunity to teach him what you like so youcan receive a treatment in return !
===================================================4. Essential Oil Quick Tip: Natural Shaving Lotion===================================================
Men want to look good, smell great, and have a healthy glow totheir skin just as much as women do. Pure, organic, face productsare also important for men, but not as easy to find in themarketplace. What's the best way to get them? Make them yourselfat home!
There are great benefits of using your home-made non-toxicproducts with therapeutic grade essential oils. They act astherapeutic skin treatments. Many of the therapeutic essentialoils have powerful antioxidant and skin protecting properties. These can be helpful for conditions like eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, and inflammation.
Here's a great way to make pure non-toxic foaming shaving lotionwith your favorite essential oils at home:
--Purchase a foaming pump bottle (only 89 cents athttp://tinyurl.com/gmv5k)
--Obtain pure plain bath gel (Young Living has an excellent plainbath gel that has no sodium laurel sulfate and no propyleneglycol and made from: coconut and olive oils, vegetable gum, aloevera, rosemary extract, and glycerin http://tinyurl.com/aenfp )
--Pick your favorite essential oil (some good single oils forshaving would be sandalwood, ylang ylang, rosewood, rosemary, geranium, patchouli, myrrh - good blends from YL would be Valor,Sacred Mountain, Chivalry, Peace and Calminghttp://tinyurl.com/aenfp )
--Mix essential oil into bath gel (10 - 20 drops in 0.5 oz)
--Mix 50/50 bath gel mixture and pure water
--Place in foaming pump bottle for dispensing as a shaving cream
Pre-Shave Oil
For really tough beards, or if you just want to add one more stepin your pampering, here is a wonderful recipe for a Pre-ShaveOil:
--Mix equal portions good quality cold-pressed castor oil and a sweet oil (olive or almond)
--Add one or two drops of a favorite essential oil (lavender is good here)
--Moisten beard with warm water
--Apply this oil to his face, and
--Then apply your home made shaving cream
Women can use these suggestions for their shaving experiences too!
Why not turn these into a Fathers Day gift? Decorate the bottle- personalize it ! And wrap it with a new razor !

=========================================5. HSL's Joke, or Cute Quote, of the Week=========================================
Fatherhood
Four expectant fathers were in a Minneapolis hospital waitingroom while their wives were in labor. The nurse arrived andannounced to the first man, "Congratulations sir! You're thefather of twins!" "What a coincidence" the man said with someobvious pride. "I work for the Minnesota Twins baseball team."
The nurse returned in a little while and turned to the secondman, "You, sir, are the father of triplets!" "Wow, That's reallyan incredible coincidence " he answered. "I work for the 3MCorporation. My buddies at work will never let me live this onedown."
An hour later, while the other two men were passing cigarsaround, the nurse came back. This time she turned to the 3rd manwho had been quiet in the corner. She announced that his wife hadjust given birth to quadruplets. Stunned, he barely could reply."Don't tell me! Another coincidence?" asked the nurse. Afterfinally regaining his composure, he said "I don't believe it, Iwork for the Four Seasons Hotel."
After hearing this, everybody's attention turned to the 4th guy,who had just fainted flat out on the floor. The nurse rushed tohis side and after some time, he slowly regained consciousness. When he was finally able to speak, you could hear him whisperingrepeatedly the same phrase over and over again: "I should havenever taken that job at 7-Eleven... I should have never takenthat job at 7-Eleven... I should have never taken that job at 7-Eleven..."

============================================================3. The Epitome of Poor Medicine ~ Marilee's Rant============================================================
I was so affected by a piece I saw on the TV show,"DatelineMSNBC" this past Sunday evening. It was about a perfectly healthyyoung woman giving birth to a perfectly healthy beautiful babyboy. Within 24 hours she was dead from meningitis.
The commentator on the show was leading up with thesequestions - how could this happen? Did she acquire an infectionin the hospital? Did she come in sick and the birthing processspread the infection?
My nursing background had me screaming thoughts " - it's fromunsterile conditions giving the spinal anesthesia, can't theyfigure that out!" I felt a great sense of relief when I heardthe family members say they thought it was from the spinal tap.Of course it was! What else would take a perfectly healthynormal woman to develop meningitis (brain swelling) within hours, other than introducing a long needle into her spine underconditions that might not be clean and sterile? In an unsterileenvironment microbes can easily enter into the spinal canal froma needle. The spinal fluid that they are tapping into to give theanesthetic drug has a direct link to the brain. When pathogenicmicrobes, viral or bacterial, get to the brain it can cause aswelling of the menninges of the brain, which can then lead tomeningitis. Permanent brain damage can result, which was whathappened here.
The woman's young, saddened husband explained what was going onwhen they tapped her spine to give her the anesthesia. He said"the doctor wasn't wearing gloves, he was even talking on hiscell phone as he was performing the procedure".
I'm sorry, but that makes me want to puke. Some of thesephysicians. . ..well. . . .I'll hold my tongue, cuz there's stilllotsa good guys/gals out there. But I know this story so well. You see, I'm a former Intensive Care Unit nurse and saw manyhospital acquired infections resulting in deaths, butnone as tragic as this. The thing that really gets me is thatthese physicians think that they're bigger than bacteria anddon't need to glove during a sterile procedure.
What's the answer to these types of problems? I'll never tellsomeone not to go to a hospital, but if you do, you had better beon your guard and question EVERYTHING and EVERYONE, and don't beshy or nice. Your life is literally at risk when you are in thehospital. Do what you can do with your doctors to get yourselfdischarged as fast as you can so you can heal at home. Actually, its not too hard today to get discharged fast - that's one thingthat could be in your advantage.
One answer to this particular problem appeared in Monday's "NewYork Times" in an article titled "Hypnobirthing". I thought itwas rather synchronistic that this article was published the dayafter that airing. I wonder if the media position articles likethat on purpose. Not a bad idea. Anyway, the Times article isabout a way to create a natural anesthesia during labor. Otherdrug-free child birthing methods like aromatherapy and birthingpools were mentioned. Celebrities Angelina and Brad were said towant water birthing. Tom Cruise and Katie were going to followthe principles of Scientology, utilizing silence.Yes, this could all be risky too. We just need to get welleducated, make our informed decisions, and have faith in it.It's the 'ole "you're damned if you do and damned if you don't"- but making an educated choice integrating both models of carein my opinion is the best way. One is not always better than theother. You know what I think is the most important factor? Theindividuals themselves behind those doctor's and nurse'suniforms. No matter what philosophy of care they practice -natural or medical - it's about the person, their intention, andtheir heart.
I often have conversations on this topic with my nursingcolleagues. Many of them are in holistic nursing but some of themstill work in hospital systems. They say they very often seeproblems which jeopardize the care and lives of patients. When wenurses ourselves, or our family members, go into the hospital aspatients, you had better be sure we have our patient advocacywings spread wide open. Many of us have pacts with one anotherthat we'll be there for each other for protection.
Well, this is exactly why I'm doing what I'm doing withHome Spa Lady. Sharing information, techniques, and resources todo what you can do to keep yourself healthy at home. I offer muchinformation on simple, safe, easy, often low cost, therapies thatyou can do for yourself. This is not to say don't useconventional medicine. In many instances, such as in emergencysituations, it is imperative. But you should integrate yourknowledge, intuition, resources, use your chutzpah, and all ofthe constituents of your health care team. Do you have yourhealth care team set up? I'll write about how to do that in anupcoming issue.
Hey, thanks for listening to my rant, and take care of yourselfand your family the best you can at home. If you want to checkout an ultimate parenting resource site that the "New York Times"recommended, go to http://www.urbanbaby.com
=====================================4. Essential Oil Quick Tip=====================================
Weight Control
From the Young Living website: "Young Living's essential oilblend EndoFlex has proven to be beneficial when used for weightcontrol. EndoFlex also helps you maintain overall vitality with aproprietary blend of essential oils that support the glandular, circulatory, respiratory, nervous, and reproductive systems."
I have seen pounds come off of people naturally when usingEndoflex. Endoflex is helpful in balancing the endocrine system. Many times people are overweight because they are hormonallyimbalanced and no matter how much exercise and dieting they do ,the pounds just don't come off. The body responds by going intobalance after daily applications of Endoflex essential oil blend.Use a few drops over the endocrine glands (i.e. on base of neckover thyroid, lower abdomen over ovaries, on back over adrenals).A quick and easy place would also be on the bottom of the feet, especially underneath the ankles (reflex place for gonads -ovaries, uterus, testes in males) inside and outside of the foot.
The text "Essential Desk Reference" also notes that usingEndoflex is helpful for lowering cholesterol.
Endoflex is at a discounted price this month.http://tinyurl.com/aenfp

==============================================1. Natural Deodorants You Never Heard Of==============================================
Why the interest in natural deodorants?
Just like every other part of the body, the underarm area has apurpose. It allows the body to cleanse and detoxify itself alongwith helping to regulate the body's temperature. The sweat glandsunder the arm and the lymph nodes are part of the "excretorysystem" of the body which helps the body "excrete" the toxins.
Almost every antiperspirant on the market contains aluminum.Aluminum is a heavy metal and can stress the body. The body doesn't have a mechanism to easily rid itself of metals.
Why burden part of the excretory system with a heavy metal whenthere are natural alternatives that are often less expensive?
Here are some:
--Baking soda Keep a box at your bathroom sink and sprinkle on your palm and apply it under your arm like a powder
--Corn Starch Keep a box at your bathroom sink and apply under your arm
--Vinegar Dilute white vinegar with water and splash under arm
--Essential Oils Lavender, melaleuca(tea-tree), rosemary, thyme. Use only therapeutic-grade. Splash a few drops under your arm.
--Combine baking soda, corn starch, and your favorite essential oil in a container and use under your arm
--Natural Toothpaste Most natural toothpastes have baking soda, salts, and essential oils. (Don't use Tom's, it has propylene glycol). Put a dab on your finger and rub under your armpit. Just know the toothpastes with mint will be a bit more refreshing! The mint sensation will last just a few minutes.
It's best that you don't apply anything immediately aftershaving.
Commercially, a good alternative is crystal stone deodorants.
It you are feeling industrious and want to make your own soliddeodorant at home, here's a recipe:
1 1/2 tbs beeswax (yellow is best)1/2 tbs cocoa butter1 tablespoon coconut oil15 drops thyme essential oil15 drops rosemary essential oil25 drops lavender essential oil3 drops castor oil
Melt beeswax in a glass jar standing in hot water, add the cocoabutter, and when it has melted, add the oils. Stir to mixthoroughly, then pour into a clean, empty deodorant stickcase and leave to cool and set.
================================================================2. Asparagus - One of the Healthiest Foods================================================================
Asparagus belongs to the lily family. There are over 300 typesbut only 20 that are edible. For more than 2000 years asparagushas been used as a delicacy in dishes. Asparagus also has manymedicinal qualities.
Here are some of the health benefits of asparagus:
--Heart Health Folate is essential for cardiovascular health. Folate helps to reduce homocysteine levels (high homocysteine leads to arteriosclerosis). One serving of asparagus gives over 60% of the daily recommended intake of folate
--Keeps Excess Fluid off the Body Asparagus is a natural diuretic. Historically, asparagus has been used to treat problems involving swelling, such as arthritis and rheumatism, and may also be useful for PMS-related water retention.
--Helps To Establish Healthy Gut Flora Asparagus contains "inulin", which is a special type of carbohydrate that helps to promote good healthy bacteria for the gut, such as Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli. When we eat more foods with inulin these friendly bacteria increase.
--Fights Birth Defects Folate deficiency is known to be the most common deficiency in the world. Many birth defects are associated with a deficiency of folate. The fetus' nervous system does not develop without folate. One cup of asparagus supplies approximately 263 mcg of folate.
For more detailed information on the nutrition and healthbenefits of asparagus go to: http://tinyurl.com/fwy42
See the Recipe Section below for Grilled Asparagus.
============================================================3. Are Pretty Toenails Possible with Fungal Nail Infections?============================================================
YUCK. It's an acronym for the common symptoms of nail infections, and also how we feel when we see our nails turning on us in frontof our eyes!
Y Yellow discoloration of the nail bedU Under the nail bed, a buildup of skinC Cracking of the nailK Keratinization, or thickening of the nail
Summer is here, and we like our feet exposed. It's cooler, morecomfortable, and even a little sexier, unless what's showing arediscolored, disfigured, or cracked nails.
What can we do at home to get rid of these symptoms or preventthem from happening?
Systemically Speaking
If a fungus is on a toe, its highly likely that its presentsomewhere else in the body. If you've ever had yeast infections, athletes feet, or jock itch for example, you will be apt to getfungal infections on the nails.
Make sure the foods that you are eating are more alkaline tobalance the body so the unwanted fungus can't take up residence.More alkaline foods are fruits and vegetables. Stay away fromacid producing foods, such as sugar, refined carbohydrates, coffee and alcohol.
There are certain "anti-fungal" foods you can eat such as:--Avocado--Broccoli--Brussels--Sprouts--Cabbage--Cinnamon,--Cloves--Collards--Lemon--Garlic--Kale--Onions--Coconut
and "anti-fungal" supplements:--Grapefruit seed extract--Oregano essential oil--Ginger--Pau d'arco herb and tea
For local application. . .
. . .sure, there are over the counter topical creams. Often theyare full of chemicals you may want to shy away from. Morenatural topical applications would be oils: therapeutic essentialoils, vitamin E oil, castor oil, and Vicks VapoRub.
Some ways to use these:
Castor Oil: "Horny" Toe Nail is a common problem especially in the elderly. It's a toe nail that is large, angled, and difficult to trim. Soak feet in Epsom salts for 15 minutes every night, and then wrap toe in a castor oil soaked gauze. Put a sock on.
Therapeutic Essential Oils Use one of these directly on the affected toe: --Oregano --Melaleuca (Tea Tree) --Mix tea tree with lavender --Mix tea tree with mountain savory You can use about 5 drops of these oils. Use directly on the site, or dilute with Vitamin E oil. Use the Young Living Blends of Melrose, Thieves, and Purification.
Vicks VapoRub as a remedy? When Vicks hit the market decades ago, people were using it for everything, including fungal nail infections. The magic of Vicks is the eucalyptus! Vicks has essential oils in it. Essential oils are naturally anti-microbial and can get rid of any unwanted microbes in their environment, including fungus.
Now Make Them Pretty
Paint them anyway. But be sure to take off your nail polishregularly and reapply. It gives you the opportunity to follow itshealing course.
You have to pay more attention to your toenails when you areworking on getting rid of a fungus. Cleaning, soaks, oilapplications, and regularly taking off your polish andreapplying it will take time, stay with it, its worth it.
=====================================================4. Recipe of the Week: Grilled Asparagus=====================================================
Ingredients for 4 servings
--1 pound asparagus--3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar--2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice--1 tablespoon olive oil--1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce--1/8 teaspoon black pepper--Cooking spray
Directions
--Prepare grill.--Snap off tough ends of asparagus. Combine all ingredientsexcept cooking spray in a large zip-top plastic bag; seal andmarinate for 30 minutes. Remove asparagus from bag, and discardmarinade. Place asparagus on grill rack coated with cookingspray; grill 5 minutes on each side or until asparagus is done.
=========================================5. HSL's Joke, or Cute Quote, of the Week=========================================
A man absolutely hated his wife's cat and decided to get rid ofhim one day by driving him 20 blocks from his home and leavinghim at the park.
As he was getting home, the cat was walking up the driveway. The next day he decided to drive the cat 40 blocks away. He putthe beast out and headed home. Driving back up his driveway, there was the cat! He kept taking the cat further and further andthe cat would always beat him home. At last he decided to drive afew miles away, turn right, then left, past the bridge, thenright again and another right until he reached what he thoughtwas a safe distance from his home and left the cat there. Hourslater the man calls home to his wife: "Jen, is the cat there?""Yes," the wife answers, "why do you ask?"
Frustrated, the man answered, "Put that son of a ***** on thephone, I'm lost! and need directions!"

=======================================1. Whiten Your Teeth at Home Naturally=======================================
Did you ever watch your white kitchen cups turn a brownish coloreven after washing them? Coffees, teas, highly pigmented foodsdo this to your cups, and also your teeth. Common stains fromfood (and cigarettes) attach to plaque and tartar buildup on theteeth.
There are some easy things you can do at home in between yourdental teeth cleaning visits to keep your teeth white and freshlooking.
Here's a list of tips and recommendations:
--Keep your mouth clean, it cuts down on stain build up. If youcan't brush after every meal, make sure you rinse food out ofyour mouth after you eat.
--Strawberries whiten teeth! Rub one on your teeth every day -or mash and apply with your toothbrush (rinse mouth afterwards)
--Brush your teeth with a paste of baking powder and water
--Rub the inside of an orange peel on the teeth
--Brush your teeth with a paste of baking soda and hydrogenperoxide (rinse afterwards, don't swallow)
--Mix these ingredients and brush on teeth:1 tsp baking sodadash of saltthen add a few drops of white vinegar, which will foam
--Burn a piece of toast, then scrape off the black layer of thetoast (it is charcoal) and mix that with your toothpaste. Brushyour teeth with this at night before you go to bed
--Brush with mustard oil and salt
--Make a paste of ground, dried bay leaves and dried orange peels(you may need to add some water). Use this as a whitener inbetween brushing teeth
--Equal parts of lemon juice and salt - brush on as whitener
--Brush your teeth with apple cider vinegar
--Use an electric toothbrush. Studies show an electrictoothbrush can remove 98.2 percent of plaque
--Great plaque dissolvers are anti-bacterial mouthwashes. Manyhave alcohols that aren't all that healthy. The best naturalmouthwash that I have come across is Thieves® Fresh Essence PlusMouthwash from Young Living. It has essential oils such aspeppermint, lemon, cinnamon, rosemary, eucalyptus, melissa leafwater, vitamin E, and other great stuff. Order from your YoungLiving Distributor or at: http://tinyurl.com/aenfp
--A home dental treatment designed by a dentist is calledGoSMILE. You can read about it and order it at:http://tinyurl.com/mgbgl
================================================================2. Acupuncture For Headaches================================================================
Acupuncture is part of Traditional Chinese Medicine and isconsidered an effective alternative medical treatment in ourculture today. It is often done for pain and it involvesinsertion of fine needles into particular points in the bodyknown as "acupuncture points".

=========================================3. Houseplant Care - Prepping for Summer=========================================
My plants are my family members and I love to take care of them.I get really excited about offering them a chance for greatervitality in the warm sunny weather.
The Flower Doctor offers some tips for those of us who can't waitto put our household plants outside for more air, light, and humidity.
Here's an excerpt from an article from The Flower Doctor:
"Houseplant Care Waiting For Summer
Many of us are itching to haul our houseplants outdoors, wherethey can really thrive. This is great for your plants since theywill get better air circulation, light exposure, and humiditythan they did during those dull winter months.
A word of precaution: Wait until the weather is consistently warm(days and nights) before bringing out your houseplants. Many ofthese are tropical plants that can be damaged at temperaturesunder 40-45 degrees. Don't immediately move plants into fullsunlight. Initially, find a shady place for the first day or two, gradually easing them into filtered sunlight. If the plant likeshigh light intensities, the move to full sunlight should takefrom 10 days to two weeks. If you find that plant foliage isbleaching, fading, or burning, move the plant back into filteredsunlight, and allow another week for it to adjust.
Replanting Houseplants
This is an excellent time of year to re-pot plants that arepotbound and have outgrown their current container. Don't skimpon potting soil quality. It's all these plants have to live andthrive in. To ensure that the product you purchase is good stuff, buy from nurseries and garden centers. Take time to actually lookinside bags, feeling the texture of the potting mix. A good all-purpose mix should be light, well-draining, and moistureretentive. It should have a nice earthy smell, and no strongodors. There are special mixes for cacti and succulents, orchids, etc. that you can purchase for plants with specific soilrequirements. If your plants have been happy, use whatever isworking for you.
Water And Fertilize Those Houseplants
Since your houseplants will be going into their active growingstage in the spring, water and fertilizer are important. Waterplants when the top few inches of soil are dry. Make sure wateris draining through the drainage hole in the bottom of the pot.If you use pot saucers, make sure plants don't stand in water formore than 15-20 minutes. For most plants, water solublefertilizers should be used every two-three weeks per labelrecommendations."

==================================================4. Heal Cold Sores Naturally==================================================
Cold sores are a virus known as Herpes Simplex Type I. There is"no cure" for this virus according to conventional medicine. There are, however, natural remedies that can fight off the fulloutbreak of these sores and stimulate healing of the alreadyexisting sores.
Here are some steps you can take to treat an outbreak:
--Nutritional literature suggests that diets high in the aminoacid lysine can reduce the incidence of a herpes outbreak.Supplement of lysine are available at most health food stores andthe suggested amount is 500 to 1000 mg daily.
--Conversely, you should prevent foods that have the amino acidarginine which suppress lysine. These foods are nuts, dairyproducts, meat, seeds, oats, peanuts and corn.
--Zinc, 50 to 100 mg daily may also help
--Build your immune system with 5000 mg of vitamin C daily
--Get plenty of rest and reduce stress
--Use therapeutic grade essential oils. They have high anti-viral activity. Melissa oil is highly indicated for topicalapplication on location three times a day.
--Other essential oil recommendations are applying one drop eachof lavender and melaleuca neat as soon as a cold sore appears. If the sore is open it is best to dilute in a very clean massageoil base.
Young Living Essential Oils are the only ones that I use andrecommend because of their high therapeutic quality. Order fromyour Young Living distributor or go to: http://tinyurl.com/aenfp

Diane Mandrill, Pfizer’s U.S. Director of Marketing, says theforthcoming changes are "absolutely necessary" and that they willallow the companies to use email again "something" she says "hasbeen nearly impossible for several years".~We can’t send an email about, say, Viagra to anybody else in thecompany, since the spam filter just kills it as soon as it’ssent. And if we want to get a message out to the public? Forgetit! Might as well delete it before even sending it!~That’s why we’ve decided to change Viagra to V!@gr@ - the spamfilters can’t recognize the different spelling, so the emailmessage will go through fine. And, just to mix things up a bit, every few months we’ll be changing it again, to something likeVa_Gr@, or V1/@gr_a. Basically, we’re gonna outsmart these spam-catching programs at their own game.~Another of Pfizer’s medications, Celebrex, will be rechristenedCe`3brex, and their popular drug for hyperlipidemia, Lipitor, will be known in the near future as 1Ip!t0R.The new names, says Mandrill, have the added advantage of being"much more interesting, and a lot more fun to pronounce."~Other drug companies, long stymied by the same inability to sendemail messages about their products to colleagues, physicians, and patients, are following suit. Bayer’s Levitra will be renamedL3vtr.a, and Merck’s Propecia will be renamed Pr0p.3cia.~Besides medication name changes, the companies will also beimplementing system-wide policies on email content, says Merckspokesperson Chris Goode. "It’s going to be recommended that, ifyou’re referring to any medications at all, for example, you usem3dicat!on or medic@t10n instead," he says.~While the renaming of medications has been met with someresistance by some health professionals, who cite the potentialconfusion such changes could create, others see the changes asappropriate and overdue.~Ms. Mandrill says that Pfizer is taking the process of renamingits medications very seriously, and suggests that other changesmay be in store.~"It might not even be Pfizer anymore," she announced. "I mean, you could call it Pfizer, but you could also just call it P., oryou could call it P. Fizzy, or even Pfizzy Cent". She added thata new album and video are planned for late 2006.

===============================1.Caviar Facial, Beer Pedicure===============================
Not your normal spa treatments, but then again - why not becreative with nature? - it has so much to offer!
Chicago-based Spas are getting lots of attention and businessfor their unique and effective spa treatments. Channing's DaySpa offers a Caviar Facial, which they consider one of their bestanti-aging facials. This isn't the type of caviar you would eat. It's freeze-dried and imported from Switzerland "for skin only".
"Caviar has the same composition as human skin, it's composed of70 percent amino acids and trace minerals," says Renella,President of Channings.
The Beer Pedicure is attracting many. . . guess who?. . .MEN!Exsalonce Spa owner Tony Odisho says, "Beer has enzymes so wefound that the enzymes soften the calluses and the hopsmoisturize the feet". A favorite part of this treatment formany men who imbibe is they get to finish the can of brew!
================================================================2. Olive Oil Protects Against Bowel Cancer================================================================
Researchers pulled data from:
--International Agency for Research in Cancer (IARC)--Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations--International Olive Oil Council--Info on food and bowel cancer patterns from 28 countries, including most of Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States,Brazil, Colombia, Canada, and China.
More than 3/4 of the difference in rates of bowel cancer amongthe different countries studied was explained by three dietaryfactors:
--Large consumption of meat or fish was associated with anincreased risk--A diet rich in olive oil was associated with a decreased risk.--A diet high in meat, and low in cereals and vegetables, alsoincreased risk
Olive oil decreased risks regardless of the amount of fruit andvegetables in the diet.

=========================================2. Cellulite Solutions=========================================
You don't have to be overweight to have a cellulite problem.
According to Dr. Murad, author of "The Cellulite Solution",cellulite isn't a fat problem, it's a skin problem. Cellulitehas nothing to do with how much you weigh, nor does it improvewith weight loss.
Cellulite is hereditary. Until recently it was also thought to bepermanent. In the last several years, many treatments haveemerged to reduce and eliminate it.
Here are some of the treatments:
--Creams and Lotions The key ingredients in most creams and lotions for cellulite are methylxanthines, one form of which is caffeine. Caffeine creams work great to pull fluids out of the spaces between cells and induce lipolysis (fat burning in the layer just below the skin's surface).
In a study published in the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery in 1999, researchers found that methylxanthine creams reduce fat cells in skin, with visible results in about eight weeks. The higher the concentration of methylxanthine, the better the cream worked.
--Diet Dieting to lose weight may not help cellulite. But, according to Dr. Murad, eating foods that "feed" skin can help strengthen cell membranes and keep cellulite from migrating. Some of these foods are: eggs, soy, cauliflower, and peanut butter (for lecithin), flaxseed, olive and canola oils, ground flax, and raw nuts (for essential fatty acids), berries, pomegranates, goji berries (a type of berry found in Central Asia), and citrus fruits like oranges and grapefruits (for antioxidants, polyphenols, and amino acids). Eating foods that are natural diuretics can reduce fluid retention which improves the appearance of cellulite.
--Light Therapy Devices These are designed to melt cellulite, increase circulation, and drain lymph vessels.
There are two FDA approved devices: --TriActive - a laser light therapy, done twice- weekly for 16 weeks. Treatments are 40-minutes and cost around $1,200. --VelaSmooth - radio frequency energy, combined with infrared light, to heat up and then release cellulite. Ten treatments costs $2000 and lasts at least six months.
--Endermologie A mechanical massage technique that combines rollers and suction to affect the skin's connective tissue. This stimulates blood flow and lymphatic drainage. Treatments consists of 20 45-minute treatments. Cost is $150 to $300 per treatment.
--Mesotherapy A medication "cocktail" administered in a series of rapid injections, during 30 to 60 minute sessions. Ten sessions are needed for the best results. This is a very controversial treatment. The cost runs between $800 and $1,500 for six to 10 sessions. Results are said to be long-lasting.
--Natural Therapy Manual massage therapy utilizing massage oil containing healthful benefits to improve skin texture. One good suggestion is Cel-lite Magic Massage Oil from Young Living Essential Oils. The essential oils that are effective in this blend are grapefruit, to help tighten skin, and juniper, that works as a detoxifier and cleanser. Apply this at home every day on affected area. (Order Cel-lite Magic at http://tinyurl.com/aenfp)
--Exercise One of the most effective forms of exercise that can reduce the appearance of cellulite is Bikram Yoga. This is also known as Hot Yoga. The 90 minute class is held in a room heated between 102 and 106 degrees. The combination of postures with the sweating, when done on a consistent basis, can firm the body in amazing ways. Learn about Bikram at http://www.bikramyoga.com/
--Body Brushing Dry brushing can help the lymphatic drainage system to remove toxins from the body. Brush over cellulite areas (butt and thighs). This is where fats, proteins and waste products tend to accumulate. Dry brush five minutes before your bath or shower. Use a natural bristle brush and make long strokes. Work your way up the body by starting at the feet and moving towards the heart. Use gentle downward strokes on the neck, throat, and chest.
--Water Never underestimate the power of drinking water for many reasons, including improving the texture of the skin and for flushing toxins. A good rule of thumb for the appropriate amount of water intake is drinking half of your body weight in ounces every day.

=====================================================5. Recipe of the Week: Garlicky Kale=====================================================
Garlicky KaleServes: 6
2 pounds kale, about 2 bunches4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil4 or 5 cloves garlicpinch red pepper flakessplash red wine vinegarsalt to tastefreshly ground black pepper
--Remove stems from the kale and chop the leaves coarsely. Washand drain well but do not dry.
--Heat a large sauté pan, add 3 tablespoons of the olive oil andenough kale to cover the bottom of the pan, and cook over highheat while stirring to rotate the leaves. Add more kale as theleaves wilt. When all the kale has been added, season with salt, cover and reduce the heat to medium.
--Cook, stirring occasionally; the cooking time will depend onthe maturity of the kale. Young kale will be tender after 4 to 5minutes. It may be necessary to add a splash of water if theleaves begin to scorch. When the leaves are tender, remove thelid and allow any excess water to cook away.
--Remove the kale to a warm bowl and set aside. Add the remainingtablespoon of olive oil to the pan along with the garlic and redpepper. Sauté just until you smell the aroma of garlic.
--Sprinkle the garlic and red pepper over the kale and toss witha splash of vinegar. Adjust the salt and pepper to taste.
--Serve warm or at room temperature.

=========================1.What Moms Really Want=========================
Hallmark, as you can imagine, does tons of research on thistopic. They found what mothers love to receive from theirhusbands and children are things she wants but won't purchasefor herself.
Here's a list of Hallmark's findings on what mothers want alongwith other great gift ideas:
--Anything made, or selected, by their child or grandchild.
--A day of no chores or cooking.
--Time spent with the kids (if they no longer live in the home).
--Something she mentioned in passing, and they remembered (showsthey were really listening).
--Pampering (waiting on her, massage, spa day).
--A Mother’s Day card she will keep forever(Hallmark, of course!)
--Sleep
--The best of everything for her family
--No dishes in the sink
--More time for family relationships
--Being told how much she's appreciated
--A gift with emotional or sentimental value
Moms told Hallmark researchers that they especially don't wantto have to tell their husbands and/or children what they want;rather, they want them to figure it out.
On a practical level, gift giving can be made easy if you canfigure out what kind of Mom you are buying for, and pick a giftin that category. Here are some category ideas:
--Pet Lover Mom
--Pamper Mom
--Techno Mom
--Home Depot Mom
--Style Mom
--Artsy Mom
--Decorator Mom
--Sports Mom
A good website to buy from in these categories ishttp://www.gifts.com/

================================================================2. Beautiful Basil================================================================
Basil is one of my favorite herbs and essential oils. I justplanted basil in my herb garden hoping for full bountiful andbeautiful plants. Basil is always prominent in my home-madesalads. so I prefer to go in my backyard and pick my own, asopposed to buying it from the store. Basil is used frequently inItalian cooking. Surprisingly it is not native to Italy, but toIndia and Iran.
In India, basil was considered sacred, and was believed byHindus to be a passport to heaven. Basil comes from the Greekword "basileus" that means "king".
There are more than 140 varieties of basil, but the "ocimumbasilicum" is most used in aromatherapy.
I don't leave home without basil essential oil in my purse. Not only am I attracted to the smell, but the benefits of oneinhalation, or one application, are tremendous. Although Imostly associate an application of basil with relieving musclespasms (particularly the muscles behind the neck), it is goodfor so many other things. Mental clarity is one of them.
Here are some other benefits of Basil essential oil:
--Alleviates anxiety, depression, fatigue
--Good for headaches, migraines, menstrual disorders
--Effective for respiratory disorders and rheumatism
--Alleviates stress and nervous conditions
To order oils contact your Young Living distributor or go to:http://tinyurl.com/aenfp
=========================================2. Tub Tips=========================================
Are you considering the purchase and installation of afreestanding tub? These tips are from Better Homes and GardensKitchen and Bath Ideas and HGTV Baths.
The Basics
--Select a dreamy destination, such as the Greek Isles, as thebasis for your escape and for your room’s color scheme.
--Choose an eye-catching tub as your focal point.
--Use wall-mounted or floor-mounted faucets for more options intub placement and room for bather(s).
--Wispy curtains hung canopy-style can add drama.
--Place tables nearby to keep bath amenities close.
Space issues
--Standard tub dimensions are for the overall footprint of theunit, not the space inside. Although standard tubs are 5 feetlong, buying one 5 1/2 or 6 feet long will allow adults tostretch out.
--Standard depths are 14 to 17 inches which is fine for bathingchildren but depths of 20 to 22 inches will help keep theshoulders warm for adults wanting to sink down into toastybubbles.
The Costs
Soaking tubs:Basic, 5-foot enameled steel or Fiberglas model: $90-$175.Cast iron: $250-$1,300.Acrylic: $300-$1,000.
Freestanding soaking tub (claw-foot, pedestal, slipper-style):$1,600-$3,700-plus, depending on materials.
Whirlpool tubs:Basic 5-foot model with a 1 to 1.5-horsepower motor:$600-$1,500.
Large, luxurious model with four to 10 jets, internal heater anda 2- to 3-horsepower variable-speed motor: $2,000-$5,000.
Whirlpool tub with exotic water elements (shiatsu massage, waterfall feature): $5,000-$7,000-plus.
Basic bathtub materials
--Fiberglas: Lightweight and inexpensive material that can beeasily molded into extras such as seats, soap holders and grabbars. Tubs are available in many colors, but the color fades overtime. Fiberglas scratches easily.
--Acrylic: Also easily molded. It costs a little more, but thecolor is embedded throughout, which means it holds color betterand scratches won't show.
--Enameled steel: Tubs are shaped from sheets of steel, thencoated with baked-on enamel, which tends to be thin and prone tochipping. These tubs don't hold heat well and can be noisy. Anundercoating can muffle sound and help retain heat.
--Cast iron: The toughest tub material around. The cast iron iscoated with baked-on enamel, but it is thick, which offers arichly colored finish. It’s durable and resistant to chips, stains, scratches, dents and cracks. A cast-iron tub can weigh300 to 400 pounds, though, and your bathroom floor may need to bereinforced.

==================================================4. Happy National Nurses Week==================================================
This is National Nurses Week. It began this past Saturday, May6th and ends this Friday, May 12th, which is FlorenceNightingale's birthday.
I've been a nurse for 29 years. I used to be an Intensive CareUnit Nurse. I haven't worked in the hospital for 20 years.People say "why did you leave nursing?". I never left nursing.Nursing isn't something you leave. Nursing is something youbecome, and you always are. Kinda like being a mother - once anurse, always a nurse. Interesting how they are being celebratedsimultaneously. We're in celebration of the power of thefeminine this week.
Florence Nightingale said "Put the patient in the best place fornature to act upon them". At Home Spa Lady we teach people how tocreate an every day environment that is supportive. It helpspeople to maximize their greatest potential for high levelwellness (resulting in great beauty!) This is the one of thebest things that nursing can offer.
